L2 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1) -
This is a theory course, based in the classroom, with a multiple choice exam at the end. You must pass this course before you can proceed onto the PA2 Tractor Spraying course or the PA6 Back Pack Spraying course.
The course is a foundational module in pesticide application, focusing on the safe handling and application of pesticides. It's a mandatory requirement for anyone wanting to undertake further pesticide application units. The PA1 theory module covers legislation, product labels, personal protective equipment (PPE), safe storage, transportation, disposal, and environmental awareness.
