Number of lectures in series: 1 three hour session
Pre-requisites to joining: A desire to develop as a data analyst in a coded environment
Data analytics examines organisational issues by using available data and a range of techniques to produce insights. For instance, it may be used to identify sales trends over time or to evaluate customer views of products and competitors through relevant analytical methods.
This course introduces participants of all experience levels to R using the open-source R Studio package. In a single three-hour session, you'll learn what R is, how to install it, and get hands-on demonstrations of its basic features, including accessing data and generating simple outputs. Since R Studio is free and open source, you can install it on your own device if you have admin rights. After this taster, you can choose to continue with the Data Analytics Series structured as eight two-hour lectures covering development and interpretation of tables, charts, data distribution, pattern testing, and an introduction to machine learning.
Note: You maybe unsure whether you want to work in a coded environment, this single session is an ideal place to see if it would work for you.
